Episode 1102

The First Group Date

The 15 Bachelorettes move into their Malibu mansion. There will be two group dates this week and there will be a rose handed out at each. The first date box has already arrived and inside are lots of wide brimmed hats and toy horses. Jade reads the note: "Join me for a day at the races, Brad." Those going to the track are: Erin, McCarten, Kristy, Mallory, Hillary, Jade and DeAnna.

As they get ready, McCarten tells Hillary that she's going to get the first kiss from Brad and Hillary responds, "You want my sloppy seconds? Because I'm kissing him first!"

Jade says she thinks she has a good shot at getting the rose because she's one of the more competitive women there and also, "I personally think I'm better looking."

At the Del Mar racetrack, Brad greets the women, all wearing sundresses and the hats he sent and hugs them in turn. He ushers them into a private suite, and hands them all a present: One hundred dollars to bet on the horses! Brad watches closely to see who bets big, saying, "You can tell a lot about a person by the way they bet." When Mallory only bets $2, all the other women laugh, but Brad tells her he likes someone being conservative.

Back at the Bachelorette mansion, another date box arrives, this one containing beach towels and bikinis. Jenni reads the note, which says, "Join me for some fun in the sun in Malibu." The women are excited. Not only can they show off their bikini bods, but they'll get to see Brad in swim trunks!

The women are in the kitchen, making drinks, when they hear a scream. Michele has fallen down the stairs and is badly injured! The paramedics arrive and take her out on a stretcher. The Bachelorettes watch anxiously as Michele leaves the house in the back of the emergency vehicle.

Back at the track, Brad asks Hillary about her perfect guy and she says he has to be taller than her when she's wearing heels, which Brad is. She also wants someone who's sweet and down to earth and who has a sense of humor because, she admits, she's really a big dork.

Watching from the suite, the others, especially Jade, are jealous that Hillary and Brad are holding hands.

A guest from the neighboring suite joins the women: it's Shawn Philips from the San Diego Chargers and he has gifts for all of them, Chargers T shirts. He jokes that he might be the next Bachelor. Brad takes him aside and Shawn says he was most impressed with DeAnna and that he also liked the "outgoing" McCarten, who's from San Diego.

From a wheelchair at the hospital, Michele calls Brad's cell phone. She tells him about her accident and that she has a mild concussion. She says she really wants to go on the beach date, but she's not sure if she'll be up for it. Brad is upset at the news, and so are some of the women when he tells them but McCarten's reaction is to wonder why Michele called him if she has a concussion, and how she got his number!

Brad confesses his first reaction was to drop everything and go be by Michele's side, but he had to be mindful of the seven women on the group date. He decides to continue the date since he's confident Michele is okay.

McCarten asks Brad for some one on one time. He takes her hand as they walk out of the suite. Privately, she says he's so good looking she might just "lay one on him." She's holding a wine glass and he isn't, so she proposes an "imaginary toast" to new beginnings. "Or I could kiss you," she says, and leans in and, midsentence, plants a kiss on the unsuspecting Bachelor.

He confides to the camera that he didn't find the kiss very good, but if there's a next one, he hopes it'll be better. McCarten is insulted when he wipes his mouth, but he assures her that he meant nothing by it.

On a private deck overlooking the ocean, DeAnna tells him she came into this thinking that he if he likes her, he likes her and if not, she'll be glad to go back home. She admits she has the same hopes the other women have, but it's hard vying for Brad's attention. She's a bit miffed when Brad excuses himself since their one on one time has barely begun.

He goes back to the suite, and under the disappointed gaze of the other women, grabs the rose from the silver tray. DeAnna is all smiles when he returns with the rose and tells her he feels a really good connection between them. She hugs him and gives him a kiss on the cheek. He proposes a champagne toast to accepting the rose and to "many more to come."

DeAnna tells Brad that the longest relationship she's been in lasted five years, and that the guy cheated on her, so she would never, ever to do that to anyone.

The rest of the Bachelorettes impatiently decide to bust in on Brad and DeAnna. They pretend to be happy that "DeDe" has a rose and Jade confesses that DeAnna has become the frontrunner, but wonders how genuine her shy, quiet demeanor is.

After Brad held her hand and rubbed her back, Hillary wonders why she didn't get the rose.

As the sun sets, Brad leads them in a toast "to many more good times."

Even though she has a rose, DeAnna says she feels like she still has a lot to prove.

The Second Group Date

The women going to the beach parade their teeny tiny new bikinis to a recuperating Michele and the other Bachelorettes, who look on with sinking hearts. Hillary thinks it's in bad taste for them to show off in front of Michele, who's unable to go on the date.

Brad arrives and first he goes to check on Michele. He finds her outside, alone by the pool. He says he wishes he could do something to help her out.

Sheena admits that even though they hope Michele's okay, realistically, if she's out of the game, it's great for the rest of them.

Brad wishes Michele well and then drives his beach dates to the Polaroid Beach House in Malibu. He makes the women drinks as they strip down to their bikinis. Brad isn't taking his shirt off quick enough for their taste, so Stephy takes it off for him!

Back at the mansion, the women from the first date worry that their competition will be "really forward" with Brad today. Privately, Jade says that she thinks there's a big division in the house between the "classy" girls and the ones on today's date. Hillary agrees that Brad wants someone to take home to his mother, not "some trashy party girl who acts fake."

Sarah steals Brad away first and Jenni vows she'd never be that aggressive. Brad tells Sarah that he loves her disposition and he used to be very serious but he's trying to be more laidback.

In front of everyone else, Solisa announces she wants Brad to take a body shot off of her and he says, "What did I get into?" But he does it, first licking the salt off her chest and then biting the lime she's holding between her teeth. Solisa says her goal was to make Brad see that she's a "free spirit." Bettina 's reaction: "I think I'm going to throw up!"

During their one on one, Solisa tells Brad she's a Christian and that morals are very important her. Later, she worries that telling him that might mean she's not getting a rose.

Stephy says she hasn't figured out if Brad likes outgoing girls or shy girls better, but that she's definitely been really aggressive all day including taking her own body shot off of Brad.

Alone time with Jenni leads to an extended kiss, after which they both laugh. He tells her every time they're together, he can't stop smiling and laughing.

Back at the house, Jade and Hillary go through Jenni's luggage and find her modeling portfolio. They take it as proof that she's just on the show to further her career.

Brad tells Bettina that he likes that she doesn't have to be the center of attention and that he's usually more more drawn to the "quiet, reserved" type.

Brad excuses himself with Sarah and takes the rose along with them! The rest of the women admit his choice has caught them by surprise. Sarah happily accepts the rose and a hug from Brad. Jenni says she's "heartbroken," not to get the rose, especially after their kiss. Lindsey declares that Sarah is "fake."

That night, they all crowd into a huge hot tub, lit with candles. Brad asks them to reveal the craziest things each of them have ever done and Solisa takes it as an invitation to go wild! She runs toward the beach, ditching her top along the way. No one moves to join her, not even Brad. She rejoins them with her top back on and Brad says he thinks she just outdid everyone. Bettina pronounces her "weird."

The Cocktail Party

It's time for the second cocktail party and Brad's first priority is sitting down with Michele. She feels the pressure to cram a whole date's worth into one chat, so she tells him all about her, including that she wants to have children, but not yet. She says she's looking forward to finally going on a date with him.

Bettina is on the verge of telling Brad her secret - she's a divorcee - but she decides against it at the last minute. She tells him there's nowhere else she'd rather be right now than with him.

Brad asks Mallory to describe her perfect day. She says it would be waking up and having Brad make breakfast in bed for her, then go outside and do something fun. "How are we going to make a living?" he jokes. "Oh, we have to do that?" she answers.

Jade tells the other women that if she could send one girl home, it would be Jenni, who walks by just as Jade says she thinks Jenni is just here for her career because she brought her "effing portfolio."

They realize their gaffe, but it's too late to apologize. Jenni is in tears, insisting that her main goal in life is to fall in love and start a family and that her modeling book has nothing to do with that. DeAnna tells her not to let it upset her. Jenni is now concerned that someone will say bad things about her to Brad.

Even though she doesn't name names, Jade tells Brad to watch out for the girls who are just in it for the exposure, and not for him. She has no regrets about warning Brad if that's what it takes to "get a step above" her competition.

Outside, DeAnna shows off her firebreathing skills with a bottle of alcohol, which gets a big "Wow!" from Brad.

Which means that Erin, Mallory, and Michele are going home. Erin seems philosophical, saying she believes her Prince Charming is still out there. Mallory says that Brad wasn't feeling a connection and she maybe needed more time. Michele is more emotional, saying she's "shocked" to be going home. She says she's going to blame it on her slip and fall, but that if Brad wasn't feeling anything for her, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. "I'm a nice person and I'm kickass and people fall in love with me, just not Brad," she says, wiping away tears.
