Brad awaits Jenni at a marina in Cabo San Lucas. She runs toward him and gives him a big hug. When he tells her they're going to be swimming with dolphins, she doesn't admit to him that the idea scares her, especially when she sees there's more than one. "We're only swimming with one," he tells her, promising it won't be "When Dolphins Attack." Once they start swimming -- and dancing -- with Andy the dolphin, Jenni says she feels so comfortable, she could have stayed in the water for hours. Brad is proud of the way she overcomes her nervousness and calls it "a bonding experience."
Brad can't deny the attraction between them but isn't sure how Jenni feels about him. Privately Jenni admits that she's falling in love with him but is nervous about telling him so. He asks her what she wants to happen and she's hesitant to say, for fear of setting herself up for disappointment. He's surprised to find her so reserved.
They meet up again that night and he wonders if she'll accept his invitation to the fantasy suite. At dinner, he toasts her, saying how glad he is to have met her. She finally feels safe enough to tell him how strong her feelings for him are, but admits it's easier for her to show him how she feels than to put it into words.
He's waiting for the right moment to present her with the fantasy suite card and is pleasantly surprised when she asks him to just hand it over. He jokes with her that maybe there's nothing involved here but dinner and then challenges her to grab the card out of his pants pocket. She doesn't even read the card before agreeing to go with him to the suite.
They arrive at the suite, which is decorated with flowers and dozens of candles. They lie on the bed together and she thanks him "for being the man that I dream about." They kiss and then Brad goes to close the door on the cameras. Jenni privately says that she feels she was meant to be with Brad.
Bettina's Date
Brad is a little anxious about his date with Bettina. He admits he finds her very hot, but that he always has questions after spending time with her and that this is a "make or break" date. She also meets him at the marina, where they go sailing on a boat that was used in an America's Cup race.
Bettina is confident that this date marks a new beginning after the tension of their last date, and that the more time they spend together, they more they will fall in love with each other. They help hoist the sails with the crew and take a turn at the wheel and then swim to a nearby private beach.
Bettina is hoping that Brad invites her to spend the night with him. Brad is hoping that Bettina will be herself over dinner and that they can feel comfortable around each other. She tells him that her family's only concern is if Brad feels strongly enough about her because they could tell that she is in love with him. Brad says that's just what he was trying to convey to her family, but that he left feeling they doubted him. She says she's sorry he felt that way and that she doesn't doubt him for a second. He asks if they'd be upset if she moves to Austin and she nods. She says she's willing to move despite her family's objections.
Brad is relieved to hear her say that but he still finds the conversation "heavy." He hopes that once the cameras are gone, she can finally be herself around him. He presents her with the hotel key and she accepts. Bettina admits the suite is beautiful but that she only has eyes for Brad. She can't imagine she won't stay through the next rose ceremony because it seems like she and Brad are still getting to know each other. She joins him in a hot tub on the balcony and Brad admits that it feels more comfortable than it ever has with her. They kiss for the first time and Bettina says she feels it's only going to get better between them.
DeAnna's Date
Next, Brad spends the day with DeAnna. She's excited when he tells they're going to do some off-road racing. Privately, she says she's 100 percent sure that Brad is the one for her and that they're meant to be together.
They have a blast racing and he's excited for their evening together, saying he's been waiting for it since the day he first met her. For her part, she wants to let him know what's in her heart, and how deeply she cares about him. At dinner, he tells her he doesn't meet people like her much and she says that from the second she met him, "she just knew" and that she's never felt so much for any other person so quickly. She says it's scary and overwhelming, because she is falling in love with him and tells him he has her heart. He kisses her hand and asks if she really means it and she swears she does. He smiles and kisses her. Later he admits that she rendered him speechless and that it was everything he hoped to hear from her.
He gives her the invitation to the fantasy suite and she tells him she would love to spend the night with him. Privately, he says he's waited for a woman like her all his life and how much he admires her independence and her beauty. He wants her to know he sees her as a soulmate, one he can see spending a lifetime with.
At the suite, they kiss in the pool and he tells her how beautiful she is. He can't get over how much their connection is more than just physical attraction.
The Rose Ceremony
The next day, Brad has a hard decision to make. The weather is stormy and that suits his emotions, as he's a little scared to make the decision since he'll be sending someone home with a broken heart.
Host Chris leads the three women to a house by the ocean where they wait for him.
Brad has only two roses to give out and he tells them he's been dreading this rose ceremony and that it will break his heart to say goodbye to one of them today.Brad gives the first rose to:
Jenni
Brad gives the second rose to:
DeAnna
Which means that he is sending Bettina home. Bettina smiles sadly at him and says her goodbyes to the other two. Brad takes her aside and tells her he doesn't know what to say. She says she's not sure if she wants to know why but asks anyway. He replies he doesn't feel like he ever got to know the real her. She admits she's shocked but that if what he feels for the other two women is stronger than what he feels for her, they're not right for each other and that's all she wants to say. He gives her a kiss on the cheek and she wishes him good luck. He's still wondering why she didn't give him the chance to get to know her as he puts her in the limo.
 On the drive to the airport, she admits she's completely blindsided and thought that there was something more there than he did. She says it "sucks" that her feelings were not reciprocated. "I'm ready to just get out of here," she says. |
Brad returns to DeAnna and Jenni. He's excited to have them both meet his family and he toasts to true love.
